Background: This 450,000 SF performing arts center occupies a full city block and opened to the public as the new “jewel” of the Avenue of the Arts. The Center consists of the 2500 seat Verizon Hall, a new home to the Philadelphia Orchestra, the 650 seat Perelman Theatre, and a “black box” theatre all tied together under a glass barrel vault roof which creates the indoor Commonwealth Plaza for numerous activities and support facilities. As a member of the Commonwealth’s Project Management Oversight team, JBC was responsible for schedule review and progress monitoring during construction of this new concert hall and recital theatre.
