South Woods State Prison

Background: This facility, the largest in the New Jersey State Prison system, was the most ambitious design-build public works project ever undertaken by the State. Constructed over 84 acres, the 1.3 million SF facility consists of 26 buildings in a self-contained complex including secure housing units, medical, educational, food service, administration, visitation facilities and an industries compound.  As a member of the Construction Management team, JBC's primary responsibilities included the development and maintainance of the 16,000 activity, cost loaded CPM schedule for this 3000- bed medium security correctional facility.  Additionally. JBC provided document control services.

Following construction, JBC provided schedule analysis and litigation support services in defense of a $5 million escalation claim asserted against the State of New Jersey.
