International Terminal A-West

Background: The new 800,000 SF International Terminal A-West serves the Philadelphia region as an international gateway with its new ticket hall and lobby, 13-gate concourse and 22,000 SF of retail concessions. Its Federal Inspection Services (FIS) area includes new baggage claim and 56 INS inspection stations to ease the flow of passenger traffic. Due to limited site area and a desire to maximize aircraft parking positions, the FIS was built over existing roadway and commuter tracks. As the project developed in design, a new 38-gate US Airways Regional Terminal F for commuter and regional aircraft was added along with a new 270-foot high ramp control tower.

As part of the Construction Management Team, JBC provided CPM scheduling, construction inspection and coordination. JBC’s primary responsibilities included the development, coordination and management of the 18,000 activity resource-loaded CPM schedule for 25+ prime construction contracts.
